Versatility is a significant strength for South Adelaide’s Zac Dumesny, who is emerging as a Torrens University Draft Target in 2020.
Known as a smooth-moving utility, the 17-year-old can play at either end of the ground or even off a wing.
A member of the victorious Torrens University SA U16 team which won the AFL National Championships in 2018, Dumesny measures in at a flexible size of 186cm and 78kg.
“He’s a very stylish medium-sized player who will be able to play half-forward, on the wing and also across half-back,” Torrens University SA U18 coach Tony Bamford said.
“He’s very good in the air, has elite kicking skills and has the versatility to play behind or in front of the ball.
“Has a lot of tricks to his offensive game and we are working on developing his body-on-body skills when defending. I’m very excited about how he might perform in his under-18 year.’’
Despite being a ”bottom-ager” in last year’s U18 Torrens University Cup, the Brighton Bombers recruit chalked up an impressive average of 20 disposals at 80 per cent efficiency.
Dumesny also performed strongly for the Panthers in the 2019 finals series, averaging 19 disposals which included a game-high 21 possessions, five marks and three clearances in the Grand Final.
