North Adelaide piled on the early scoreboard pressure to earn a 29-point U18 Torrens University Cup win against Central District at X Convenience Oval.

Bursting out of the blocks with a six-goal first quarter, the Roosters only allowed the Bulldogs to kick two of their 12 goals in the first half.

North midfielder James Willis racked up eye-catching numbers to be named the Round 13 Torrens University Cup MVP, tallying 34 disposals and three goals while Angus Tully booted four majors.

Central big man Cody Gilchrist battled hard to kick five goals from his 19 disposals and eight marks while teammate Austin McDonald had 29 disposals and 10 marks.

A ten-goal second half proved the catalyst for South Adelaide’s comfortable 43-point win against Norwood at Flinders University Stadium. 

Leading by just 12 points but having 7 more scoring shots than the Redlegs at half-time, the Panthers got more reward in the last two terms for doubling their rivals’ inside 50 entries.

Jack Delean and Jaidan Magor did the damage on the scoreboard with four goals each while nippy rover Luke Mitton collected 30 disposals and six clearances for the hosts.

Norwood’s Tyson Walls finished with 23 touches while Aidan Lake booted three goals from six kicks.

Woodville-West Torrens sent an ominous message to likely fellow finalist West Adelaide with a 65-point victory at Hisense Stadium.

The Eagles jumped into second spot on the ladder after banking the premiership points while also building an advantage of nearly six per cent on the Bloods.

West’s Cade Kennedy never gave in while accumulating 28 disposals, 11 marks, five tackles, five clearances and a goal.

Jacob Owens found plenty of the ball for the Bays with 39 disposals and nine marks while Will Watts was the hosts’ only multiple goal scorer with three.

Sturt Jordan Hein impressed with 29 disposals and 12 marks while teammate Alex Holt had 26 disposals.
