Speedster Anthony Wilson will return to where it all began in 2022 as he dons the black-and-white of Port Adelaide.
Having originally played at Port in the Under-18s and Reserves, the Norwood premiership wingman will bring with him 103 games of experience with the Redlegs and SANFL Crows.
The 29-year-old is also looking forward to developing himself off the field in the coaching realm, alongside head mentor Matt Lokan and fellow ex-Redleg Jace Bode.
”It is more about trying to develop myself off field so coming here and learning from Lokes, JB and other blokes like (Captain Cam Sutcliffe) Sutts as well just felt like a good environment to start transitioning outside of footy.
“I’m coming towards the end of my career so I wanted to develop myself but also give back at the same time.”
Trent Burgoyne has endured a rough trot with hamstring issues but the eldest son of Power premiership star Peter Burgoyne will remain at Alberton despite being delisted in the off-season.
The clever wing/forward is expected to be a regular in the Magpies’ line-up this season as a SANFL-contracted player, linking up with younger brother Jase, who was drafted as a father-son selection last year.
Still only 20, the speedy Trent Burgoyne will be hoping he can steer clear of the medical room at Alberton so he can play his way back on to the AFL list in 2023 and beyond.
