Sturt’s direct style of play via foot played a role in it holding off Central District by 13 points in Round 5 of the U16 Torrens University Cup at Wigan Oval.

West forward Noah Baker asserted himself on the contest with a match-defining haul of five goals and five tackles while William Ashton (29 disposals) and Carter Wright (14 handballs) also lent great support.

Norwood’s Kane Halpenny chalked up a team high 31 possessions and six clearances while teammate Jeff Rozenbilds had 31 to go with his two goals and eight marks.

North Adelaide was able to hold a fast-finishing South Adelaide at bay to record an 11-point win at Flinders University Stadium.

Seemingly coasting to a comfortable win with a 37-point lead at the last change, the Roosters then conceded 6.3 while only managing 2.1 in the fourth quarter to cling on to the premiership points.

North’s three highest disposal-winners – Blake Oudshorn-Bennier (28), Owen Kalic (25 and three goals), and Louie Montgomery (24 and two goals) – were lauded by their coaches for outstanding displays.

South’s Jake Agnew (17 disposals), Tyson Roberts (16 disposals) and Cameron Woods all played major roles in their team’s brave comeback.

A sensational six-goal second term catapulted Glenelg toward a 58-point win against Woodville-West Torrens at ACH Group Stadium.

Opening up a 22-point lead at the first change, the Bays set up their raid of the premiership points by slamming on 6.1 to the Eagles’ 1.2 in the second stanza.

Glenelg’s Max Disbury was ranked his team’s best performer while Henry McKinnon (19 disposals) and Charlie McAuliffe (27 disposals, seven marks) were also highly-rated.

Eagles’ Kade Herbert (20 disposals), Harry Dodd (28 disposals, six tackles) and Brodie Harris did their best to stifle the Tigers but it was to no avail as they fell to their second loss of the season.
