Glenelg knocked North Adelaide off its perch with a rampaging 116-point win in Round 12 of the U16 Torrens University Cup at Prospect Oval.

Bursting out of the blocks by booting 7.2 while keeping the Roosters’ scoreless, the Bays continued the onslaught on the scoreboard while not allowing the hosts to kick truly until late in the third quarter.

Tiger Charlie McAuliffe shone with 37 disposals, five clearances and two goals while Archer Rouvray (20 disposals, three goals) and Kallan Bevan (18 disposals, three goals) were also influential.

North’s Tom Stevens, Liam Grubb and Tom Tasker, the son of former Rooster Sean Tasker, fought hard to stem the Tiger tide.

Sturt coasted to a 66-point win against West Adelaide at Hisense Stadium.

Experienced Double Blues coach David Oatey would have been pleased with his spread of 10 goal kickers as his side registered 48 inside 50m entries to West’s 30.

Sturt’s Connor Mills, the son of South Adelaide great Trent Mills, collected 25 disposals and kicked two goals while Jasper Maher (26 disposals, six clearances) and Noah Roberts-Thomson (25 disposals, one goal) also provided plenty of drive from the middle.

West’s Xavier Mayes (23 disposals) and Noah Baker (22 disposals) were the only two Bloods to surpass the 20-possession barrier.

Central District caused a major boilover with an upset 32-point win against competition pacesetter South Adelaide at Flinders University Stadium.

Registering just their fourth win of the season, the Bulldogs knocked off the ladder-leaders while registering 25 more marks and 50 more handballs.

Riley McDonald was a significant difference-maker for the visitors with 28 disposals, eight clearances and 11 tackles while teammates Brodie Wills (30 disposals, one goal) and Mitchell McDonald (21 disposals) also drew praise from their coaches.

South’s Alan Singh laid nine tackles in an attempt to quell the Dogs while Brad Jackson (24 disposals) and James Papworth (20 disposals) didn’t give in.

Norwood broke through for its second victory of the season with a 41-point triumph against Woodville-West Torrens at The Parade.

Despite trailing by 10 points at the first change, the Redlegs showed plenty of resilience to earn a nine-point advantage at half-time.

Jay Poklinghorne (23 disposals, two goals), captain Riley Kirchhofer and forward Errol Wood (five goals) then set about instigating a second half which yielded 7.5 to the Eagles’ 2.3.

Eagles Logan Hughes (16 disposals, one goal), Brock Jamieson (27 disposals, six clearances) and Rome Burgoyne (21 disposals, three goals) were high among their team’s best.
