A standout display from classy Sturt midfielder Nick Sadler was a major catalyst in his team’s 34-point Round 13 U18 Torrens University Cup win against the Eagles at Maughan Thiem Kia Oval.

A member of the Torrens University SA U18 team’s leadership group, Sadler tuned up nicely for the Croweaters’ next contest against Victoria Metro this Sunday by collecting a game-high 35 disposals and six clearances while also booting two goals.

Teammates Will Torode and Blake Fidge were also highly-rated by the Double Blues’ coaches while key forward Chad Reschke kicked a bag of five majors.

The Eagles were spurred on by solid performances from Brody Mair, Nathan Barkla and Jordan Tilbrook but it wasn’t enough to close a three-goal deficit at the final change.

Norwood produced a stirring second-half to seal an invaluable 36-point win against ladder-leading North Adelaide at Prospect Oval.

Nestled nicely in the competition’s top two, the Bays turned a 10-point half-time deficit into a 21-point lead at the final change by booting 6.3 to the Panthers’ 1.2 in the third term.

Tigers Bodie Ryan, Will Trevena and Kynan Dunn were considered critical in their team’s sudden turnaround.

South officials lauded Myles Amos, Will Verrall and Jack Delean (18 disposals, two goals, five clearances) for showing spirit under heavy pressure.

Exciting West tall forward Harry Lemmey booted a game-high six goals to go with his 18 disposals and 10 marks in a best afield display as teammates Adam Bunworth (23 disposals, three goals) and Lukas Zvaigzne (five goals) also had huge impacts.

Central was again charged by a strong Trent Tattoli performance which landed 35 disposals, six clearances and a goal, while being supported by Ethan Scholz and Beau Thomas.
