Episode 6 of Checkside Chats has landed, featuring an in-depth interview with Torrens University SA U18 ruckman Harry Barnett.
Rapidly rising up the Mock AFL Draft boards, the West Adelaide bigman reviews his promising performances at the NAB AFL National Championships.
Measuring in at 202cm, Barnett said he senses he is still growing as he studies the likes of Western Bulldogs giant Tim English in adding aspects to his own game.
After making his League debut for the Bloods in Round 14, Barnett is keen to line-up in the Hostplus League again this year but might need to edge out his great mate and fellow former Goodwood Saints junior Oscar Steene.
SANFL Coaching Development Coordinator Rian Nelson also jumps into the studio for a lengthy update in regards to all things coaching, including SANFL’s focus on developing female coaches.
Nelson also details SANFL’s Community Club Coach Coordinator program, which is being rolled out across the State as a vital support network for coaches at grassroots level.
A SANFL Female Coaching Academy has been established with some recent initiatives including the opportunity to review the Port Adelaide v Gold Coast AFL game live at the Adelaide Oval and a recent female Commuinity Coaching forum at Alberton with new Power AFLW coach Lauren Arnell.
