Central’s Shelby Smith has been handed a three-match ban after unsuccessfully challenging a charge of making face contact with North’s Isabelle Starmer at X Convenience Oval on Saturday.
Facing the SANFL Tribunal on Tuesday night, Smith challenged the grading of intentional conduct, instead arguing that her conduct was careless.
But SANFL Tribunal chairman Ian White found otherwise, deeming Smith’s conduct to be intentional, ensuring she would receive her base sanction of three matches.
