Sturt premiership forward Josh Hone loves a celebration and there will be plenty for him to celebrate when he notches his 150th Hostplus SANFL League game in Round 5 on Saturday.

The crafty goalsneak from the Adelaide Hills is a fan favourite among Double Blues fans, who will love hearing him open up on his journey to his significant milestone on the latest edition of Checkside Chats.

One of five brothers and six siblings, Hone is the second youngest who became accustomed to fighting hard for the footy in the backyard ahead of making his League debut in Round 15 of 2014.

Things are a little bit more mellow among the Hone boys these days as they enjoy success in a local darts competition while also working together at the family business – Adelaide Paving Centre.

A member of the 2016 and 2017 flags with the Blues, Hone said they just shade his indoor football premierships for his team “Ron’s Shazlicks” which features past players Zane Kirkwood, Mark Evans and Jack Penfold.

Victorious SA U18 Girls coach Bek McMahon also comes into the studio with a smile on her face to discuss her team’s outstanding performance at the AFL U16 Girls National Championships.

The Croweaters remained undefeated in chalking up comfortable wins against Victoria Metro and Western Australia on the road as the next wave of exciting female talent from SA was ushered on to the national stage.

Bek mentions the ones to watch from SA in the coming years while also chatting about the giant strides being made in the female coaching space, with several graduates from SANFL’s female coaching academy joining her on the panel for the championships.
