Australia’s favourite cooking show, Channel 7s My Kitchen Rules, will add some mouth-watering flavour to a bumper entertainment program at this Sunday’s 2023 Hostplus SANFL League Grand Final.
MKR’s South Australian mother and son team, Sonia and Marcus, will cook up a storm with a live cooking demonstration from 12-12.30pm on the Channel 7 stage on Telstra Plaza at Adelaide Oval.
The loud and passionate cooking duo have created their very own signature SANFL pasta dish exclusively for the Grand Final and for South Australian food lovers and footy players to enjoy. Sonia and Marcus will prepare the signature dish – a Green Pasta with Butter Sauce & Garlic Pangrattato – live on stage.
Footy fans entering the stadium also will be treated to a Channel 7 gift bag, including a recipe postcard and the ingredients required to make Sonia and Marcus’ SANFL pasta dish at home.
The Channel 7 stage will also feature interviews by Seven’s Andrew Hayes, with SANFL players, including Central District Magarey Medal winner Harry Grant, from 11.30am.
The MKR cooking exhibition is part of an expanded Grand Final Festival of Footy line-up of activities and entertainment that will start well before – and continue well after – the premiership clash between Glenelg and Sturt.
Among major attractions are the Play On Official Grand final After Party featuring DJ Hot Dub Time Machine and Niki Dé Saint in the Lindsay Head Terrace Bar.
This Sunday’s clash is the first time Glenelg and Sturt have met in a SANFL decider since 1974 – the first Grand Final ever played at Football Park – and only the fourth meeting between the teams in Grand Final. Sturt lead the ledger 3-0.
