She might be sporting a new surname but South Adelaide’s Tiffany King won’t be changing her successful football formula.

After enjoying a surprise wedding in December, King (nee Copley) is suddenly set to celebrate her 50th Hostplus SANFLW League game against the Eagles at Flinders University Stadium on Saturday.

Speaking on SANFL Radio, King reflected on her whirlwind rise into the Panthers’ lair as she made her debut in 2019 after taking up the sport just 12 months earlier at McLaren Districts.

It was an inevitable pathway considering the versatile utility had always dreamed of playing the sport, regularly acting as a boundary umpire after playing netball each weekend.

In the same debut season, King found herself playing in the Panthers’ memorable 2019 premiership.

And by 2020, she had been thrust into the leadership group where she still remains today much to her delight.

The qualified psychologist knows the importance of building momentum after her team’s huge opening victory last round against North Adelaide.

Earning a second premiership medallion will be the goal at season’s end but it might not be the only reward, given she attracted the interest of AFLW club Carlton last year.
