Moore on the way for North Adelaide

North Adelaide has significantly bolstered its onball brigade with the signing of former Port Adelaide and Richmond midfielder Andrew Moore.

Moore, who played 60 AFL games for the Power and Tigers between 2010 and 2016, has spent the past three seasons with VFL side Box Hill.

The 28-year-old has been the Hawks’ skipper for the past two seasons, including 2018 when he was the club’s premiership captain and best-and-fairest.

Measuring in at 189cm and 87kg, Moore will add considerable size inside the centre square at Prospect, where he will link up with North skipper Max Thring.

Moore is no stranger to Menzies Crescent, lining up with the Roosters in 17 League games and 14 Reserves appearances under the old SANFL Mini Draft system of allocating AFL-listed players to SANFL clubs.

”That (returning to North) was a motivator for him,” North Football Manager Darryl Wintle said.

”And he knew (coach) Josh Carr and (development coach) Jacob Surjan from his time with them at Port Adelaide so he wanted to come to a familiar environment.

”We’ve been in contact with him for some time so when he indicated he would return to Adelaide we were delighted to welcome him back.”

Surjan said he was excited to once again link up with ”Moorey” who will also provide the North playing group with significant leadership.

“We are delighted to have Andrew at the Roosters for season 2020,” Surjan said.

”He comes back with great experience, playing in the VFL for the last three seasons where he also captained his club which will be invaluable for our group.

”Extremely competitive, Moorey will push the group to be better. Andrew is a fantastic person and will add great value both on and off the field.”
