Based in the inner northern suburb of Prospect, North Adelaide was established in 1888 as the Medindie Football Club before changing its name in 1893. The Roosters have won 14 League premierships, including a drought-breaking triumph in 2018 in which they rose from fifth place at the end of the minor round and 10th place in 2017. Two of South Australia’s greatest footballers donned the red and white – Barrie Robran and Ken Farmer – with both players having a statue outside Adelaide Oval. Playing home matches at Prospect Oval, The Roosters development zone includes the northern suburbs and country regions such as Port Pirie and Port Augusta in the mid north.
