By SANFL Media

SANFL is pleased to announce that nominations are now open for the 2023 Hostplus SANFL Volunteer of the Year Award.

The Hostplus SANFL Volunteer of the Year Award aims to shine a light on the remarkable contribution of volunteers who go above and beyond for their local football club.

“The SANFL Hostplus Volunteer of the Year Award is our way of celebrating our unsung footy heroes and to say thank you to all the local legends behind the scenes who make our game great,” said SANFL Executive General Manager Football Matt Duldig.

“Whether they be administrators, umpires, coaches, trainers, Auskick co-ordinators, fundraisers, scoreboard attendants, timekeepers or work in the canteen or BBQ, now is the time to honour a volunteer for their unwavering loyalty to your football club or league.”

Hostplus Chief Executive Officer David Elia said:

“Volunteers are the backbone of our communities in so many ways. When it comes to community sports, they are pivotal to the success and sustainability of clubs, competitions, and leagues – not only through the skills and expertise they bring, but because of the sense of belonging, connection, social interaction, and inclusivity that volunteering fosters.

“I offer my sincere thanks to everyone who volunteers in their local footy club or association and encourage you all to get behind your local superstars and nominate them for the 2023 Hostplus SANFL Volunteer of the Year award.”
