Star Signing - Toby Murray
The surname is familiar at West Lakes but Toby Murray is a very different player to his brother Nick.
Making his name as a mobile ruckman for Wangaratta in the strong Ovens and Murray Football League, Toby Murray is set to develop his skill set by playing a role as a key forward for the Crows’ SANFL team.
Now living with his older sibling and teammate Ned McHenry, Toby will be a difficult match-up for opposition defenders considering he measures in at 200cm.
Afforded the opportunity to train with the Crows’ AFL squad during the season, Toby is itching to test himself in the best State League competition in Australia.
Powerade Breakthrough Player Candidate - Tyler Welsh
Plenty of excitement surrounds the arrival of Adelaide’s father-son prospect Tyler Welsh at West Lakes.
Welsh, the son of Scott Welsh who played 129 AFL games for Adelaide between 2000-2007, arrives from Woodville-West Torrens under the SANFL’s Rookie Program.
And the strongly-built key forward has hit the ground running while adjusting to an elite environment as he aims to make his Hostplus SANFL League debut in Round 1.
The 17-year-old, who measures in at 191cm, is also completing an AFL Sportsready Community and Football Administration Traineeship at West Lakes.
Adelaide forward Tyler Welsh, the son of former Crow Scott Welsh, has joined the club under the SANFL Rookie Program in 2024.
