Whyalla’s Bennett Oval will host its second AFL Community Series match in succession with Port Adelaide to host Carlton on Sunday February 21.
After the venue’s $2.8m redevelopment was showcased with the Power confronting the Western Bulldogs earlier this year, it will again get an opportunity to shine in Round 1 of the AFL’s 2021 preseason fixture.
Next year’s contest between Port and the Blues will be in the twilight timeslot of 4.40pm SA time.
SANFL club South Adelaide will also repeat its AFL Community Series hosting of this year when it has Adelaide tackle reigning premier Richmond at Flinders University Stadium from 12.40m on Sunday March 7.
Earlier this year, the Panthers welcomed the Crows for their preseason game against the Gold Coast Suns.
In 2019, Bennett Oval – the home of football in Whyalla – underwent a significant redevelopment which included new irrigation installed, a refurbishment of the oval’s turf and a renovation of the grandstand facilities including changerooms, wet areas, canteen and bar.
