Glenelg moved a huge step closer to Hostplus SANFLW League finals action after accounting for North Adelaide by eight points at Stratarama Stadium.

The Tigers rode home on the back of a dominant second quarter when they bagged three goals and restricted the Roosters to a single behind.

When Madisyn Freeman kicked a goal eight minutes into the third term, the home side was a commanding 24-points clear.

The Roosters kicked the final two goals, but the horse had bolted and the Tigers climbed to fourth on the ladder.

They will face fifth-placed Double Blues, who have superior percentage, in the final round to decide the fourth spot in the finals.

Chelsea Parker kicked the first two goals for the Tigers, before highly promising Piper Window nailed a brilliant goal from an awkward angle.

Window was again outstanding, picking up a team high 19 possessions and having seven tackles.

The four highest disposals winners on the ground were all Roosters.

Jess Edwards had a massive influence with 28, feisty full back Kristi Harvey had 24, Brittany Perry 23 and Aprille Crooks 22.

South Adelaide survived a spirited comeback from Sturt at Wigan Oval to retain its spot at the top of the ladder.

The Panthers seemingly had the premiership points in their keeping when they led by 21 points at half-time, only to concede three goals in the final quarter.

Impressive Double Blues youngster India Rasheed marked on the goal line and kicked a major to cut the deficit to just one point 15 minutes into the final term.

And when she marked strongly just outside the 50 a minute later and sent the ball deep into attack, resulting in a goal to Monique Bessen, the Double Blues looked to have grabbed the much-needed win.

But with only one minute remaining on the clock, Panthers’ Jorja Hooper took a mark 25m from goal and held her nerve to kick truly.

The Panthers, led by Brooke Boileau and Caitlin Couch, dominated territory in the first half to put three goals on the board and restrict the Double Blues to a behind.

Isobel Kuiper was a driving force in the home side’s revival and she finished with 27 disposals.

Norwood is guaranteed a berth in the major round after overcoming bottom-placed West Adelaide by 16 points at Coopers Stadium.

The Redlegs kicked the final four goals, including three in the final quarter, to come from behind at three-quarter time and clinch a seventh win for the season.

Tahlita Buethke proved the hero for the Redlegs, amassing a game-high 21 possessions, as well as seven tackles, and she bagged the final goal to ensure the home side were triumphant.

Lana Schwerdt had another prolific performance for the Redlegs, collecting 19 disposals to have a major influence on the result.

Just three points separated the two sides at half-time, with one goal apiece, before Zoe Venning nailed two goals in the first four minutes of the third quarter to set the Bloods alight.

There would be no more goals from the Bloods, however, as the Redlegs tool control.

Georgie Pater had a superb game for the Bloods, leading the side with 20 disposals.

The Redlegs have won their past three games to lock up a finals spot, while the Bloods are without a win since round two.

The minor premiership is within reach of Central District following an impressive 19-point win over Woodville-West Torrens at Maughan Thiem Kia Oval.

The Bulldogs are a game behind top-placed South Adelaide, but have superior percentage.

Jemma Whitington-Charity kicked the first of her three goals seven minutes into the contest to set the Eagles alight. She added another nine minutes later.

But the Bulldogs stamped their authority on the game with four unanswered goals.

Jasmine Evans kicked the first two of that run, while the competition’s leading goalicker, Katelyn Rosenzweig, added the third.

Rosenzweig finished with two goals to have 18 for the season.

Elaine Grigg was terrific for the visitors, recording a team high 19 possessions and finishing with eight tackles. Laitiah Huynh was busy to have 18 disposals.

The leading possession winner for the Eagles was Shineah Goody with 18. Poppy Waterford made her mark with an incredible 12 tackles.
