Glenelg continued its late-season surge toward the Torrens University SANFL U18 top four with statement-making 104-point win against Norwood at Stratarama Stadium.

Now just one win and percentage outside of finals contention, the Bays looked a class above as they restricted the Redlegs to just one goal while registering a whopping 70 inside 50m entries for the match.

With as many as 11 goal kickers, the hosts had a multitude of strong contributors but it was ruckman Harry Francis who stole the show with 22 disposals, nine marks, two goals and 24 hit outs.

Tiger teammates Bodie Ryan (18 disposals, nine marks), Charlie McAuliffe (31 disposals, two goals) and Ben Camporeale (29 disposals) also got in on the act.

Norwood selected Noah Daw (18 disposals), Matthew Brown and Jake Hill (17 disposals) as its players to show the most resistance on a tough day at the office.

North Adelaide staged a remarkable comeback to pinch the premiership points against South Adelaide at Prospect Oval.

Trailing by as much as 38 points nearing time-on of the third quarter, the Roosters then piled on 7.4 to the Panthers’ 0.1 to record a memorable seven-point win.

Seemingly in control when James Noack extended the Bulldogs’ lead to 16 points in the 11th minute of the final term, the hosts were then forced to withstand a concerted push from the visitors, who kicked consecutive majors through Zac Schwarz and Isaac Edwards.

Through the efforts of Liam Fawcett (16 disposals, five goals), Will McCabe (28 disposals, one goal) and Jesse Kurtz, Central was able to hang tough to regain top spot from the Eagles.

Edwards hit the scoreboard for the visitors with three goals while Harry Dodd (33 disposals, eight marks, eight tackles) and Jake Andrews did their best to conjure a last-gasp victory.

Sturt surged in the second half to bank valuable percentage with an 84-point win against West Adelaide at Thebarton Oval.

Working hard to establish a 17-point lead at half-time, the Double Blues put down the accelerator in the second half to slam on 11.5 to the Bloods’ four behinds.

Scoring was spread around for Sturt as 10 players registered their name on the goal kicking list, headed by last round’s Torrens University MVP Sam Waltham with four goals.

Double Blues Thomas McCourt (18 disposals), Kobe McEntee (28 disposals, seven clearances, one goal) and Loch Rawlinson (17 disposals) were instrumental in setting their forwards up with opportunities.

Racking up a game-high 32 disposals and eight clearances, West’s Sam Burbridge showed plenty of heart while teammates Riley Hill (16 disposals) and Kade Hilton (14 disposals, one goal) did their best to provide support.
