SA Football Commission Appointments

SANFL League Directors met tonight to consider the appointment of two Commissioners to serve on the South Australian Football Commission.

Commission Chairman John Olsen AO announced that in accordance with the League’s constitution, lawyer Bill Moody was elected as Commissioner for a three-year term, replacing June Roache who has been a member of the Commission since 2015.

Incumbent Commission member Peter Lindner was re-elected to serve for a further three years.

This follows the appointment of business manager and former chair of scosa Louise Small to the Commission on a one-year term. Ms Small replaces Jane Woodlands-Thompson who is leaving after three years on the Commission to focus on her role as General Manager Women’s Sport at Collingwood Football Club.

“I would like to pay tribute to June who was a trailblazer for football as the first woman to serve on the Commission. She has made an invaluable contribution in terms of her energy, wisdom and her engagement with clubs,” Mr Olsen said.

“As Chair, I have greatly valued the quality of her input and the time she has committed to the role.

“As June steps off, we welcome Louise Small, whose business acumen and experience in elite sport and will be of significant value, particularly as SANFL continues to manage the rapid growth in our female programs and competitions.

“I also congratulate Peter Lindner and Bill Moody on their appointments and look forward to working constructively with them over the ensuing term.”
