North Adelaide’s pressing need to bolster its midfield rotation resulted in the return of Andrew Moore to Prospect.

With 2019 Barrie Robran Medallist Aidan Tropiano heading back to Perth, the Roosters found their ideal replacement in Moore, who has been injected straight into the leadership group as joint vice-captain.

The 28-year-old – who played in 60 AFL games with Port Adelaide and Richmond – is no stranger to leadership roles having captained Box Hill to the 2018 VFL Premiership.

Measuring in at an imposing 189cm and 87kg for a midfielder, Moore will use his strength to advantage in the centre square as he seeks to release his fleet-footed teammates on the outside of the contest.

Defensively, Moore is also no stranger to applying a crunching tackle, something which became his trademark in Victoria’s State League where he also won the Hawks’ 2018 best-and-fairest award.

Moore is no stranger to Menzies Crescent, lining up with the Roosters in 17 League games and 14 Reserves appearances under the previous SANFL Mini Draft system of allocating AFL-listed players to SANFL clubs.

”Andrew is extremely competitive, he will push the group to be better,” North coach Jacob Surjan said.

”He is a fantastic person and adds great value both on and off the field.”

Selected by SANFL Media Producer Zac Milbank, the 2020 Statewide Super League Top 50 is being unveiled one player at a time on the League’s website and social media channels.

For incumbent SANFL players, form across the 2019 season was used as a significant factor in the selection process, with selection in The Advertiser Team of the Year, West End State squad, club leadership group and placings in club best-and-fairest weighing heavily.

This is to ensure there is meaningful movement of player rankings between each year’s Top 50 list at the start and end of the season.

Recruits to the Statewide Super League for 2020 have also been included, with significant AFL experience, performance at State League level and their predicted impact proving critical in deciding the order of players.
